Successful Fundraiser at Indian River Acupuncture

In honor of National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day on October 24, Indian River Acupuncture raised $1,000 for Acupuncturists without Borders, a non-profit organization offering free acupuncture to Veterans and those suffering from natural disasters and other conflict/stress situations.

To treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), practitioners use the NADA protocol, which is well researched to be extremely effective. It involves the placement of five tiny needles in the ear and is often done in large group settings so many people can be treated at one time. These needles calm the ‘fight or flight’ response, mitigate the detrimental effects of extreme stress on the body and support the organs that help the body recover from trauma. The NADA protocol has also been used in addiction treatment facilities to ease withdrawal effects from alcohol, nicotine, heroin and other drugs.

Indian River Acupuncture thanks all who participated to help this wonderful organization. In addition, due to the effects of Sandy, now is a great time to lend a helping hand.
