Sherryl Vida, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, announces the opening of her practice in Satellite Beach. She has provided mental health services to individuals and families in the Brevard County Community for over 14 years. Vida earned her undergraduate degree at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY and her Master of Arts in Counseling from Webster University at the Space Coast Campus. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor she previously had offices in Cocoa and Merritt Island.

During her fourteen years of counseling individuals and families it became obvious to Vida that some transitions proved particularly difficult for all family members and especially the children. Only the death of a family member was more difficult than divorce. Vida earned a Florida Supreme Court Certification as a Family Court Mediator. To compliment services to divorcing families she also completed training and is now a Supreme Court Approved Parenting Plan Coordinator. Some examples of family services Vida provides on a regular basis include: couples relationship counseling, parent-to-child problems such as non-compliance and harmful behaviors, child-to-child behavioral issues. Her mission now is to assist families through transitions, using her knowledge and experience in a safe and compassionate environment. When asked about her working goals, Vida states, "The strengthening and preservation of each family, well beyond the transition they face in the present, is always the goal."
