At FFTF, standards are set high. The farm does not take advantage of the USDA’s National Organic Standards (NOS) exemptions. In addition, it is certified as a “Fresh From Florida” farm, and holds and Animal Welfare Approved (AWA) certification. The farm uses a small local family processor who is USDA and AWA approved. Money is spent to have animals e-coli tested, and pastured chickens are processed with a USDA, 20K Bird Exemption, so they never leave the farm where they are raised. This way, FFTF can guarantee that anti-microbial washes are not used on their meats.
