Motivational Breast Cancer Survivor Speaks in Vero Beach
Are diseased people allowed to have fun in a doctor's office? That's the premise of Connie Titus' book, Her Doctor Prescribes Dancing at Daybreak, which chronicles her encounters with her oncologist while battling breast cancer over the course of 10 years. Ms. Titus strives to motivate patients, caregivers, and medical personnel, which she will do during the October 12th meeting of Friends After Diagnosis, a breast cancer support group.
The 90-minute meeting will begin at 2 p.m. at Indian River Medical Center in Medical Education Room B, 1000 36th Street, Vero Beach. There is no cost to attend. Friends After Diagnosis meets the second and fourth Monday of the month and typically features a guest speaker on the second Monday. They also meet the third Saturday at 10 a.m. at IRMC, and in Sebastian at the Sebastian River Medical Center on the first Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. Breast cancer survivors, caregivers and loved ones are welcome to attend.
