What a Girl Wants and In Her Shoes Events
The 8th annual What a Girl Wants will take place on Thursday, April 27, at the Melbourne Auditorium from 5 to 9 p.m. Midway through the evening, the 3rd annual In Her Shoes men’s march will take place.
What a Girl Wants will include vendors for shopping, food for purchase from Uno Chicago Grille, raffles, a silent auction and a live performance featuring the Brevard County Sheriff's Deputies, Brevard County Fire Fighters and Rockwell Collins Executives. The event emcee will be Timmy Vee and Space Coast Photo Booth will be on site.
In Her Shoes, the men's march, involves men in the community walking in purple high-heeled shoes to show their commitment to ending domestic violence. Sheriff Wayne Ivey will serve as Grand Marshall.
All proceeds from the evening will benefit Serene Harbor, the domestic violence center for crisis intervention. Serene Harbor houses women, children and their pets and provides free services including case management, food, clothing, housing and job assistance, legal advocacy, counseling, and more.
