Medical Hypnotherapy Assists Surgery and Cancer Patients
Susanne Hilton, Clinical Hypnotherapist, is offering programs to assist with surgery and medical treatment preparation. A cancer survivor herself, Hilton provides options to help promote healing before and after surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. She has been working for seven years with the Sari Center, a non-profit Integrative Cancer Care Center, to provide hypnotherapy services.
Hypnotherapy is a Mind-Body therapy that utilizes the power of the patient’s mind to influence their body to assist in their medical treatment and healing. “The use of hypnotherapy in a medical environment empowers patients; improves attitude and outlook; increases comfort; decreases unwanted side-effects; and improves the treatment experience as a whole,” says Hilton. “Medical hypnotherapy is now routinely being used in many of the most prestigious cancer centers throughout the country such as MD Anderson, Johns Hopkins, and Memorial Sloan Kettering.”
Hilton explains that medical hypnotherapy can decrease the need for medication, reduce or eliminate stress, anxiety, pain, discomfort and nausea, strengthen the immune system, improve sleep patterns and sleep quality, improve confidence and positive body image and improve and/or change lifestyle habits.
