Lorax Storytime Event at Port St Lucie Botanical Gardens
Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens is pleased to announce a special Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax Storytime event on Saturday, September 21, from 10 a.m. to noon. This engaging family event brings the beloved tale of the Lorax to life, aiming to inspire a deep respect for nature in young minds.
Attendees will enjoy a reading of The Lorax, followed by fun activities including chalk art, a scavenger hunt, and a "Plant a Seed" workshop. These activities are designed to foster an understanding of Florida’s unique plants, birds, and pollinators, nurturing a connection with the local environment.
“We believe that stories like The Lorax are more than just entertainment—they are essential tools for teaching the next generation about the importance of Florida’s ecosystems,” says Mary Petrone. “Through this event, we hope to plant the seeds of conservation by helping children and families understand the critical roles our native plants, birds, and pollinators play in maintaining the health of our environment.”
Donations from the event will support the Botanical Gardens’ educational programs, ensuring ongoing activities that promote a brighter, greener future for all.
