Humane Society of St. Lucie County Unveils Agility Course

The Humane Society of St. Lucie County introduces the new Woof & Wag Agility Course, a valuable addition designed to enhance the mental and physical well-being of dogs in its care. This custom-built course, donated by GL Homes, is part of the shelter’s enrichment program, which aims to reduce stress and increase the adoptability of its animals.
Shannon Glendinning, the shelter’s Director of Development, emphasizes the positive impact of such resources: “Playgroups have improved our dogs’ mental health since the program’s inception. This agility course takes it to the next level, offering both physical and mental engagement in a fun and constructive environment.”
Sarah Alsofrom, Vice President of Community Relations at GL Homes, shares, “This course creates a space where dogs can thrive and prepare for adoption. We’re proud to support such a meaningful initiative.”
Staff and volunteers will use the course to further train and socialize dogs, improving their behavior and easing the transition into their forever homes. This project demonstrates the organization’s dedication to providing a nurturing environment for homeless pets.
