Those excess pounds that just won’t budge may be due to a hidden food sensitivity that can lead to a dysfunction of one of your key organ systems vital for overall health. In addition to weight gain in adults, potential conditions that can result from food sensitivities include:
- Digestive: gas, bloating, reflux, abdominal pain, constipation
- Skin: rashes
- Nervous System: fatigue, anxiety/depression, ADD/ADHD, brain fog, joint pain, fibromyalgia
- Immune System: autoimmune thyroid problems, lupus, chronic sinus infections, colds, anemia
- Failure to thrive in kids
Common food sensitivities include: gluten, dairy, sugar, corn, soy, eggs, and nuts. Food sensitivities can’t always be detected using skin allergy testing and blood tests. An innovative way to identify a food sensitivity is by using manual muscle testing (MMT). In MMT, the person holds vials containing various food types, and if this causes weakness to a strong muscle, it indicates sensitivity is present. Once the food sensitivity is determined, a natural treatment protocol is followed which usually includes avoiding that food for a while. As a result, the person will eliminate symptoms, lose weight and be on the road to better health.
Dr. Brian Walsh, Chiropractic Physician at CARE Chiropractic & Wellness Center uses Nutrition Response Testing to determine food sensitivities. For more information, call 321-728-1387.
