Florida Solar Energy Center Hosts EnergyWhiz for Kids
UCF Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) will host the 15th annual EnergyWhiz on Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The EnergyWhiz event is all about clean energy and creative kids. Each year, hundreds of students converge at the Florida Solar Energy Center in Cocoa, to participate in renewable energy themed events.
The event will feature solar cars, cookers, and inventions. Competitions will be held for renewable energy-focused products that are designed, built, and demonstrated by student teams. Students share knowledge with their peers, the public, and industry professionals, who are also project evaluators. Creative thinking, scientific know-how and effective communication skills all come into play at FSEC’s 15th annual EnergyWhiz.
Location: 1679 Clearlake Road, Cocoa. Cost: Free. For more information, call 321-638-1000 or visit FSEC.ucf.edu/go/energywhiz.
