Today’s woman has a unique set of needs and desires. Never before have women enjoyed such freedom of choice and expression as has been developed in these last generations. With this change, however, many new challenges have arisen to limit a woman’s fulfillment and potential. Chief among these challenges are private time and healthy living. Through a positive exercise program this fulfillment and potential can be realized, and healthy habits can be reinforced.

Today’s women not only fill the demanding roles of our predecessors, but face many new challenges and responsibilities that have come with the New Millennium. We are often the person "bringing home the bacon" (or tofu) and "frying it up in the pan". Many have, consciously or unconsciously, taken on too much. If you are one of those, you have probably noticed that along with the added responsibilities comes added stress, lessened quality of sleep and for many, unwanted weight gain. And interestingly, these three issues often affect us simultaneously.

Comprehensive Dentistry looks at the whole person, not just a tooth in trouble. It is based on the theory that most people would like to keep their natural teeth for a lifetime, and with a little help, you can. Comprehensive Dentistry views the mouth as the gateway to the human body. Liquids and solids enter the body through the mouth and digestion starts here. Proper functioning of the mouth is vitally important. Several types of cardiovascular diseases may be linked to oral health; heart disease, clogged arteries, stroke and bacterial endocarditis. Research is ongoing to substantiate this discovery.

Chronic disease is on the rise. 1 out of 8 people are affected by diabetes. Over 50 percent of deaths are caused from heart disease and cancer. 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with some form of cancer. In 2007, US drug sales reached $280 billion, with 95 percent of them treating only symptoms. Yet most diseases are preventable and nutritionally related. Over the last 50 years, nutrient values in our foods have plummeted. Over-planting, soil depletion and widespread use of chemicals, fertilizers and pesticides combined with modern manufacturing methods destroy or weaken many of the nutrients in our foods.
