Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. Not only does it give you energy to start a new day, but breakfast is linked to many health benefits, including weight control and improved performance. Breakfast helps you lower your levels of Ghrelin that is your hunger hormone in the morning.

A Living Will is your end-of-life health care mandate. No other legal document exists that will explicitly state your wishes when it comes to the decision of providing life prolonging treatment if you cannot provide such wishes on your own. Without such a document in place, deep emotional and legal problems can occur: You may be kept alive longer than you want — or let die before you want.

Many of us that are under the age of 60 may think that we don’t need to be concerned about osteoporosis – a common condition that results in weak and brittle bones – but the truth is, starting as early as our teens, our lifestyle choices will greatly affect our chances of getting this dangerous condition as we age.

This light and delicious smoothie is a natural hydrator. Athletes find it gives them increased endurance, and improves their recovery time after a strenuous workout. Many drink it just because it tastes so good.

The body is not a mindless machine; instead the body and mind are one. Research in the fields of neurophysiology and biophysics has suggested that our emotions, feelings and thoughts may exist in all places in the body and not just in the brain. Our perceptions and awareness thus become vital to our well-being, health and longevity. For most of us, the words healthy lifestyle conjures up images of low-fat foods and a daily exercise routine. While these are all good for the physical aspects of the body, the missing component has been on focusing and caring for our minds. So how do we do this? We must learn to acknowledge and claim our feelings, and not just the positive ones. Guilt, anger, grief and fear if denied will release toxic chemicals into our bodies. The longer we deny them the more toxic they become which often takes the form of an explosive release of “pent-up” emotions. Expressing our feelings and learning to let them go is essential to our health. We must also learn how to become more conscious so we can better “listen in” to what our bodies and minds are telling us. Only then will we be able to enter into that internal conversation where well-being, health and longevity are determined.

Did you ever think that symptoms such as headaches, ringing of the ears, neck, shoulder, or back pain could be related to your bite?

We know we must drink eight glasses of water a day to keep our internal organs hydrated, but what about the outside? In today's stressful environment ordinary skincare is just not enough. Seasonal as well as physical and environmental changes in your life can dramatically affect the appearance of your skin. Dehydration, calluses and flakiness are at the top of the daily problem list. Not many people know that the skin at the surface (stratum corneum) is no thicker than a piece of tape. Our skin is the first line of defense against bacteria and viruses and must be kept in good condition for it to work correctly. Like a fine piece of cloth, our skin must be handled with care or else it could look tattered and worn before its time.

When you are depressed or fearful you are not in a vibration range of being able to feel positive about anything. Congratulations, you are normal!

The energetic view of the body is not entirely new to Western medicine. The basic concepts were present in the work of ‘vitalist’ scientists such a Galvani, Hahnemann, and Mesmer, who were active in the 17th through 19th centuries. Vitalism was gradually pushed out of the realm of accepted medical science in the 19th and 20th centuries partly due to inadequate instrumentation and a medical paradigm that made no room for energetic processes. Technology has now advanced to a point where devices can successfully and consistently measure biological energy.

When choosing the right body care products reading labels can be very empowering. Words that seem undecipherable are usually undesirable preservatives that can have side effects. Plants and true botanicals are natural antimicrobials. Look for essential oils that are a true botanical, not just a fragrance. True botanicals do have a fragrance yet they are much more. Many fragrance oils are like a toxic chemistry set often causing allergic reactions to those with sensitivities.
